Julie and Emily are recording from home this week. The wine didn’t make an appearance. The opinions absolutely did.

The Dallas Cowboys gave everyone something to celebrate; CeeDee Lamb is keeping things interesting, and Mizzou is adding to the football fun. Meanwhile, the moms are pledging their playoff loyalty to the Brewers. Or possibly Cleveland. Nobody said this was a binding commitment.

Hockey is back, too, and Jack Hughes’ exchange with an ESPN reporter has Julie and Emily debating when to crack a joke and when to keep that thought to yourself. Add in the Tony Romo and CBS conversation, and there’s plenty to discuss before anyone even gets to the non-sports complaints.

Speaking of complaints, the modern dating scene deserves a moment. But the possibility of restaurants getting rid of free chips and salsa? That requires everyone’s immediate attention. You’re telling us we have to decide what to order without a basket of chips to work through first? Let’s not make dinner harder than it needs to be.
